"A Magnum Beats Four Aces"

This made no sense to me at all until somebody pointed out what colors aces are.

1. More of the same...

(in my opinion) see my thread above yours. :hi:

It may in reality NOT be a racial slur, or it may be. My point in the thread was primarily that most of the people responding with the greatest sense of "authority" on the issue, aren't in a position to say. For whatever reason, they just NEED to denounce anything that may be construed as such--why?

Could be a few things...

1. They have racial issues they choose not to look at or address.
2. Denouncing others right to be offended by things, makes them feel more powerful.
3. They are insecure cowards that need to remove others ability to be offended, because then they never have to look at the ways in which they discriminate or tear others down with their speech, actions, etc.

Other possibilities exist as well. Not feeling at my best today, so excuse me if my post lacks clarity, or if I'm repeating myself--don't mean to. :)

2. ...also take note of something...

There's only a couple of responses (with the exception of me, as I posted a lot;) ) by people that post in this area or any other racial area on DU. What does that tell you?

What it says to me is it is again DU Caucasians, and Caucasians of the world at large deciding what should or should not be deemed racist, offensive, inappropriate, etc. THAT seems to tip the scales of ridiculous in one direction, as far as I'm concerned. :eyes:

3. You made my day!

I love a mind that is open to thinking about things differently once presented with some new information.

A closed mind grows smaller and smaller IMO.

An expanding mind is a beautiful thing~

Thanls to Bliss for helping those willing to listen to see a sun shiny day.
