Black Lightning was DC Comics' first African-American superhero. He lived in Metropolis, and his comic book series lasted for 11 issues.

There is a vote underway to include Black Lightning as a part of Superman history. I am on DU today campaigning and registering voters on behalf of Black Lightning, so we can canonize him!
