And Geraldine?

I can't believe in 2008, on Democratic Underground, we still have to hear about this reverse racism crap.

Every presidential election we've ever had up until now, 100% of the black vote, white vote, hispanic vote and asian vote has been for a white guy. WTF. Im so so angry!

1. I just left there...
:banghead:

I was coming here to post something similar, after wading through the muck that is GDP.

Geraldine is delusional, and the people who agree with her are just having a ball over there.

After reading all that, I checked my bookmarks for something I thought I recalled.
A post by Xultar early in the season...

"You'll be posting things about all the shit you hear about Obama's race. I hope you remember all the things you've seen posted or posted in the past on DU about how race doesn't matter.

I can't wait to see how the white Obama supporters become very sensitive about race...and I hope you all take a step back and think about the times you felt African Americans were to sensitive about race and how things have gotten better. You'll now see that race is the first thing people see about a person when they aren't white. I think you'll all wonder how in the hell do African Americans deal with that shit on a daily basis.

Race in murka...pull up a chair and grab some popcorn and a drink. You're in for the show of your life."

It's absolutely insane how correct she was.
And sad, that this was the most obvious conclusion.

3. i think she is an idiot.
she is a fox news contributor, wtf. she is the same as rush and oreilley in my book. i ignore them and ignore her too. she doesn't deserve a minute more of press coverage then she has already gotten.
i hope the black clinton supporters are peeping out the pattern. rev up the conservative branch of our party and try to get them to vote against obama. Mississippi was a closed primary so the repubs couldn't vote for her. but, this was the strategy for south carolina and probably for pa too. gd-p is getting really racial now. i am going back in. wish me luck.

4. Ferraro's been running her mouth like that for a long time
If Clinton has a flaw it's letting people like that talk for her. I wish she wouldn't.

But you know something? After somebody calls you Aunt Condi and a house negro for not supporting their candidate, it kind of makes you wonder. I don't like how anyone's been getting racial in this campaign. You KNOW things are bad when my mom, the most politically astute person I know, who once shook Obama's hand and got him to speak at her group's event, is refusing to vote for him over shit like this.

8. It wasn't on DU, thankfully
Even the assiest of Obama supporters here won't openly go there, though I swear that's what some are thinking. That particular glass of Haterade was poured by a long time friend of the family, and served to my sister and I.

10. well i wouldn't address you that way.
i have read your posts and i know where you are coming from. my question is-how did this become barack's fault? both campaigns need to get back to the issues and away from race & gender. but, i think your girls campaign uses race to mobilize white folks. plenty of folks agree w/what gerri said. they may not admit it to us. it is going to be a long 6 weeks. watch race come up again and again. hill will be playing to the suburban and country white folks in pa. be strong and stand by your beliefs, there will always be jerks who disagree but call names due to a poverty of vocabulary.

11. Because he hasn't distanced himself from it
The reason I can't vote for Barack is the fact that he puts himself out there as this damn near holy man who is better than all this mess, yet his people are out there shit stirring with the best of them and he says nothing. He still has not apologized for slighting the black LGBT community with the McClurkin nonsense. He still hasn't come out and said cut the sexist BS. Hillary doesn't pretend to be anything than what she is--an ambitious, ofttimes Machiavellian person, but getting elected to POTUS in this country requires a certain level of ruthlessness. Hell, she apologized for how nasty it's gotten. Whether or not you believe it was genuine is up to the individual--I happen to believe so, but YMMV. The thing is Barack doesn't even have the pretense of giving a shit about this stuff. He sits back and feigns ignorance because his hands are clean.

Honestly at this point I go with Clinton because she's the devil I know, and despite disagreements with some of her policy decisions (some strong), I think she's the best person for the job of the two. But I don't think I've ever been this disheartened by a political race. It's truly shown this country for the prejudiced, ignorant, xenophobic shithole it is. I'm on the verge of just wanting to stay home, cause my state is going red anyway (no way is McCain losing Arizona). It's a terrible thing--I'm always the first one to preach about the importance of voting, I helped GOTV on my college campus back in 04 for Kerry. But it's like, do I go with the candidate whose campaign is using sexism and homophobia or the one who's got people spouting racist stuff? This feels like blackjack at a Trump casino--no matter who's dealing, I lose.

12. i like how he tries to stay above the fray.
i wish both camps would get on message. this tit for tat stuff is ridiculous. the he say, she say crap is out of control. the media is having a feeding frenzy meanwhile the party is being divided in a negative way. too many people died for our privilege to vote. too many rehabbed ex-felons can never vote. so get your vote on it really does matter.

7. My sincere hope...
...was that a woman and a person of color could participate in runs for such govt. positions and it not turn into the vile thing we see now. :(

I deleted my prior message, as I wasn't sure it would make any sense. As I was rather distracted when writing it earlier.
