10. Copy it as your own
and save it to your computer. Then upload it to your profile from there.

If there is an easier way, maybe someone else will speak up?

12. Well, I am perplexed.
thought I had it figured out. It is 48 pixels but 10k rather than 3k.

Any computer whizes out there who can solve how to get it to be 3k without reducing it in size?

21. Thanks it worked this time!!
I know all the reasons why we should let Gore just work on the environment and leave him alone and not push for president but I just can't...our country just like it said on this movie I was watching last night about a lady who was dying...is Circling the Drain...

19. There's no one more qualified than Gore
Your slideshow is a relevant and educational tribute to Al. I checked out the links you provided
to the NPR report and learned a few new things. And seeing again his accomplishments as VP,
working in parternership with his president, forced me to reminisce about the hope we all felt
back in the 90s as those two visionaries synergistically engineered peace and prosperity for all.
I cried a bit. How very small they make Bush look! :puke:

Here you reflect on the 2000 debacle as a necessary forfeiture -- I think the insights you provide are thoughtful and worthy:

"This page is designed to be both a portal and a prayer wall for Al. How much better the world would have been if Al had taken his rightful place in 2000!. But looking back, I now wonder if he's being saved for a greater task. If he had taken office back in 2000, he would never have grown to be the man he is now. He would have always have labored under the Clinton shadow instead of being able to be appreciated for who and what he truly is. The loss has enabled the Democratic Party too to regrow and rejuvenate the way it needed to in order to give truly progressive ideas a chance. And who would have championed global warming and help jump-start the 'Green Economy' of the 21st century? He would have been faced with a hostile Congress still being able to pitch outmoded ideas and running against him with leftover strands of the Southern Strategy and the argument that these ideas would only work if we tried them. And by having to endure the opposite, we have come to appreciate the truly intelligent, competent, compassionate, and visionary leader he truly is by comparison.

"And if he has already served two terms, he wouldn't be available to be President during the 2008-2012 period-a period that many foretell as a tremendous transitional period for the world and America. There is supposed to be a great transition in 2012 for the entire world. For America to make that crossing, it needs to have someone on the bridge of the mothership, not behind the wheel of an old smoky steamship of the old economy and society. Al Gore is the captain for Starship America. We hope we can make him captain in 2008, giving America four years to prepare for 2012. May America be ready. As for 2008, let no power, hidden or known, past or present, earthly or cosmic, prevent Al Gore from becoming the truly elected and truly serving President for not only us, but for the whole world. Amen."

Much appreciation from a fellow idealist (Sag Sun and Moon)!
:applause:

23. Thank You So Much Veek
Actually that slideshow is only a glimpse of what Al has done over the years. It would take probably fifty slides to tell all that he has done. Just googling for info is astonishing. His work in championing the ARPANET alone would have given him a place in history. The environment. Diplomacy. Reorganizing government. And now the Nobel. There is only one prize left for him to win-that is, unless he wants to be a Supreme Court Justice or General Secretary of the United Nations (he would do well at both!)

And I admire his strength. To have the Presidency so blatantly robbed from him. There are strong people who would have retreated into leisure or drink. Al brushed himself off and did wonders with his life. If Shrub had been given the defeat he richly earned, I believe he would have drunk himself under 6 feet of Texas soil, despite his pretense to sobriety. Al did neither. Perhaps that's why the Press hates him so. Al's a Man in a boy's and girl's world of politics. And the least mature is the Press who have never had to struggle with deep or weighty concerns. Few have had the burden of making decisions that are truly life or death.

I may do another slideshow with more depth very soon. I haven't included his education, Vietnam, or much about Tipper.

20. Thanks so much
It appears you were also very active in drafting and supporting Wes Clark for president
in 2004. He dropped out of the race the day after I was elected as a delegate
for him in California. Rats. I think he's already been picked by Hillary
as her running mate (IF she's nominated, of course).

22. Personally, I see no VP offer for Wes
from any of the candidates. While the Clintons may respect him, etc, I don't believe he will be asked to be her VP should she get the nomination. I believe she will choose Richardson. I don't think Wes will be offered a cabinet position either, should the dems win and with this crop of candidates, I think it's a big "if" that we take back the WH. I was very active in the 04/06 elections and still admire and respect Wes. However, I can not actively work for his choice in 08. If Gore doesn't run, then I'll just hold my nose and vote in the GE for whoever gets the nomination and that will be that. I will throw myself into working on global warming and other dire causes such as election reform, etc. Perhaps I can help them in some small way.

I like the large one of this pic, but maybe you can't see the oval office in the background with it being this size?
