http://nobelprize.org/cgi-bin/asxgen.asx?id=796&type=award&year=2007I'm sitting here crying after watching it. Make sure you wait for the standing ovation after he's done after the audience has been clapping for a while. And watch for the birds flying behind him that you can see through the window throughout his speech. It's like a statement from nature.

"That is just another way of saying that we have to expand the boundaries of what is possible. In the words of the Spanish poet, Antonio Machado, "Pathwalker, there is no path. You must make the path as you walk."
We are standing at the most fateful fork in that path. So I want to end as I began, with a vision of two futures – each a palpable possibility – and with a prayer that we will see with vivid clarity the necessity of choosing between those two futures, and the urgency of making the right choice now."
That's the path he is on. If there is any way I can personally help him on that path, wherever it leads, I will do so.

3. I started crying when he was talking about Hull |
|
and then they showed Tipper crying, too.
How'd you like the birds flying behind him?

5. Loved it all. Loved the birds. |
|
I love Tipper. Choked and sobbed through most of it. Had to stop it and rewind a few times. Was surprised that no one jumped to their feet immediately with their applause. Maybe for some of them, this is the first time they heard how dire things are and it was taking time to sink in what this one man has done to bring this to the world stage.
I was thinking that there has never been anyone before that I felt this awestruck over. It is amazing what he has done and is doing. How can we help him? How can we here in this forum help him if he does not decide to run this year? Have been thinking about that all day.
Bravo for the Nobel Committee who voted for this award.

7. I was surprised the ovation took so long, too |
|
Uma started it from what I could tell. I'm glad they all followed -- he so deserved that ovation.

6. I got hiccup-y tears going on |
|
They began when the cameras panned for the 2nd time on Tipper's face, then flowed generously as the standing ovation began.
He's a world wide hero.
