A blessed Mabon to you all..
As the Autumn Equinox is almost upon us I thought I would take this time to wish you all abundance in this last harvest festival of the year.
Mabon is the time between the dark and the light of the year and is also a good time to get rid of all emotional baggage or stress we might be carrying around.
It's good to build a bonfire and write down what we wish to be rid of and cast away what we wish to be purified of in the fire.
Rosemary is excellent for rituals of abundance as well.
Autumn Equinox is also the harvest of the fruits,( Apple is symbol of immortality/eternal life), the berries and the gourds.
You can ground up a little bit and add to some modeling clay and make yourself an abundance fetish for the coming year. I like to make a little figure of the Goddess that way and hang it in my kitchen.
You can also just make it into a little round ball (round is for movement/air) or square (stability and or earth) or triangle (purifies/fire) crescent (water/cleansing) or whatever means abundance to you if you are not so artistically inclined as to make a Goddess figure.
If you remember to put in a wire peg with a loop before you bake the clay it will help with hanging it later.
Whatever your rituals may be..remember that rituals are part of the language of the sub-conscious and a tool to focus your intent and are very important when we are trying to learn to be one-pointed with our will.
Don't forget an important part of a Mabon Ritual which is the drinking of the first "Waters of Sleep" (plain water which you bless) which will help you set your internal "clock" to the natural rhythm of autumn and you will then be in balance with the cycles of the Earth.
Blessed Be and Merry Part and Merry Meet again.

2. Thought I would add an update on our Mabon gathering :)
We found a way-cool recipe in time to use it for our modeling dough...it is made of Cinnamon and white glue and water.... Works great and the things smell wonderful :)
We made a charm for abundance and a charm for love..and then we just made a lot of charming things to hang wherever we wanted them. Cookie cutters make it easy too for those that don't want to just model things free-form.

Here is the recipe:
1 c. ground Cinnamon
4 tablespoons white glue
add water slowly to the mix as you knead it...enough to form a nice dough..
Be sure to make the items at least a quarter inch thick or they will break too easy.
Be sure to use a needle to put any holes into the items before you put them in the oven in order to hang them easily after they are baked.
Use more ground cinnamon for "flour" so the dough wont stick to the counter or your rolling pin.
If you are going to add herbs for your potion part..make a slight indentation in the bottom layer before adding a top layer to hold it all together with. Its just like making a tart or mini pie...or cookies..
Use water as the paste to hold two layers together and a small needle again comes in handy to insure the edges are blended together in order to hold well.
If you use glass beads..you can press them in before baking.
Bake at 300 degrees until firm...

These make great "gingerbread" decorations too ;) or items to tie on your packages or even a nice air scent to hang in your car...and they are easier than cookie dough to work with..grandkids and kids of all ages will enjoy being creative with this stuff......have fun :D
