As you may have already heard, there is a "rising star" in the Republican party named Bobby Jindal. .

There's just one small problem with this: , or if you prefer more polite language, he's a radical right Christian with extreme beliefs that *should* be unelectable to 2/3 of the country.

I'm not sure what's more disturbing, Jindal's beliefs or the many people trying to defend him in the youtube comments.

1. I know what's more disturbing:
Roughly half of the US population thinks that humans were created by God in the last 10,000 years.

2. Most people secretly believe the universe came into being
at their birth and that history is so abstract a concept it should be filed away with the higher math they never had to use in their middle management jobs, either.

Selling them on creationism isn't that hard a sell, really.

However, like Palin, Jindal will likely flame out with gaffe after gaffe once he's on the national stage.

4. I think an even higher number believe in ANGELS....
http://www.canada.com/nanaimodailynews/news/nation/story.html?id=c592a2d0-79a5-47cc-bcf3-cea173580664

snip> Fifty-five percent said they believed they were protected from harm by a guardian angel, a figure that researcher Christopher Bader said came as a surprise.

"To find out that more than half of the American public believes this was shocking to me. I did not expect that," he said.

Sixty-seven percent said they were "absolutely sure" heaven exists and 17 percent believed it "probably" does. Seventy-three percent of Americans believe in hell, it found."

:scared:

All of the "studies" and "polls" I found were
from religious and/or right-wing institutions
or areas of the country.

I am a BIG believer in the presence of 14% NON-RELIGIOUS in
the U.S. I am pretty sure the number is ever higher.
