170,000 Students to Get Free Copy of "On the Origin of Species"
By Adam Zoeller
Posted: November 11, 2009

The week before Thanksgiving 170,000 copies of a special edition of Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species will be given away at 100 of America’s top universities. The book is being freely given in honor of its 150th anniversary, and contains a 50-page introduction by best-selling author Ray Comfort.

More than 1,200 people across the country will be handing the landmark publication to our future doctors, lawyers and politicians, and atheists are fuming.

Well-known atheist Professor Richard Dawkins encouraged a group of university students to take a copy of the special 150th edition of Charles Darwin’s famous book, and tear out the Introduction. There have been more than 140 different editions of On the Origin of Species and many have had Introductions, so why is he afraid of 170,000 students reading this one?

:banghead:

Of the 140 other editions, how many had introductions consisting of 50 pages of outright lies and apologetics trying to discredit the book that follows? I'd say that Dawkins isn't afraid of students reading Comfort's introduction so much as he's encouraging them to get a free copy of a great book and tear out 50 pages of unrelated crap.

2. Let's not forget it's 50 pages of mostly plagiarized apologetics
And four crucial chapters excised, although they're being added back in newer editions (says Comfort; it was all a mistake).
