Voters Show Discomfort Supporting Religious Diversity (Check who Dems most uncomfy with)

A new study from the Public Religion Research Institute shows that voters across all political parties are uncomfortable with the idea of a president with an uncommon religious identity, such as Mormon, Muslim, or atheist. In particular, Republicans seem particularly averse to a Muslim or atheist president:

1. It's no secret that only a Christian president will do

"No religious test" is merely a facade. Every candidate has to do the song and dance to prove how very Christian s/he is, if s/he is to stand any chance of being elected.

2. Sad to see Democrats more uncomfortable than Independents with Atheists

Maybe this is one time where 'independent' really does indicate a bit of independent thinking, while there are too many Democrats still stuck in conservative prejudices drummed into them in childhood.

But supposedly it is getting better; albeit slowly.
