Anyone else watching Firefly? Notice any strange jump-cuts?
Edited on Fri Jul-22-05 06:44 PM by IanDB1
Have they edited sexual content out of the show?

There were some strange jump-cuts during the last scene with the "companion."

1. Yeap, another nipplegate casualty.
I'm sure they didn't want to get into trouble with the FCC. Starting it at 7 EST is putting it outside of the traditional prime time nudity and violence standards.

2. If you're referring to the scene where Inari is bathing...
Those strange jump-cuts are on the DVD. They were intentional. (Or put there by the DVD publishers)
As to why they're that way, I have no idea. Maybe Whedon was trying to be innovative.

4. Yep, it's being re-broadcast on Sci-fi
There's a full-length movie coming out called "Serenity."

They're broadcasting the trailer next Friday.

I saw the trailer in the theater a couple weeks ago when I brought my daughter to see "Sharkboy and Lavagirl."

I was so excited, going, "Ooh! Is it Firefly!?!!?"

And then I saw the name of the movie was "Serenity," and I was disappointed because I'd forgotten the name of the ship in "Firefly" was actually "Serenity."

5. I knew about Serenity
I was unaware SciFi bought the rights to Firefly.

I never saw the original broadcasts, but own and have watched the DVDs about four times now.

6. The Save Firefly Movement
To: UPN

The Firefly community was shocked and outraged recently to hear that its beloved show will not be picked up for additional episodes on FOX. This petition is an attempt to show UPN that Firefly could find a new home, supported by its strong and dedicated fan-base. Firefly shows so much potential for greatness, that it would be a shame to ground it before it had even taken off. It is our belief that UPN can be smarter than FOX, and carry on the Firefly legacy that was just about to begin. Please save Firefly.

Thank You.

Sincerely,

http://www.petitiononline.com/firefly4/petition.html

7. They don't own the rights
They liscenced it from Fox to show it in syndication, so they have the rights to show the old shows, just not make new ones.

I hope they do actually aquire the full rights though. If they did that they could make NEW episodes.
