"Firefly" fans....Are you out there? I've been away from DU for ten weeks
now and my cable company has broadened to include the Sci-fi channel. Watching "Firefly" has been an excellent experience. I find it some of the freshest sci-fi I've seen in years. Does anyone else agree or am I nuts?

1. Firefly is solid
I am an unabashed scifi fan, and I really like this show. I cannot recommend the DVD set highly enough. It's too bad the show only lasted 13 or 14 episodes, but the followup movie Serenity debuts on Sept 30th. Glad you like what you see...

2. U R not nuts
Unless I share the same afliction. I only rate the new BSG higher, (well maybe Farscape too but only because it lasted longer) although perhaps Firefly should get extra points for being an original.

3. Just check my signature quote, and you'll know
;)

You're not nuts. It was a great show, killed by a network (Fox) that didn't know what to do with it.

The DVD set is well worth the investment.

4. Shiny!
The gritty, non-nonsense feeling Firefly brings to the table can cause you to look at many other sci-fi offerings as just so much gosa.

6. Serenity movie is out September 30
And it looks Shiny!

The Goram Alliance is after River, and it looks like the Bounty Hunter will be in the movie, too.

The only problem I see is there will be noise in space. Pice of Gosa requirements to make money on the big screen. I always preferred the folksy violin music in the series when things happened in space.

Ah well, if they didn't have sound effects in space, I suppose the profits would be Humped.

7. Good show
The network doomed it by refusing to air the pilot episode first because it didn't have enough "action". Their airing the episodes out of order ruined the storyline continuity and made it too confusing to follow.

Watch it on the DVD - much better.

8. I watched 2 episodes when it was on Fox and I didn't care for the show.
I gave it a 2nd chance on the Sci-Fi Channel, and now I love it. I just bought the DVD set. I can't wait for the movie.

11. DVD was some of the best $30 I ever spent
I don't think there're any extras, though, but it's been great watching Firefly whenever I want.

14. Extras on disk four.
And if you can't find the Easter Egg of Adam Baldwin singing "The Man They Call Jayne" I'll tell you how to find it. It's hilarious.

16. I ordered the DVD set without seeing the show.
I came late to Buffy, checked it out on Netflix & now own the whole set. Still Netflixing through Angel.

Bought the Firefly set & love it. HATE Fox for canceling it--even though I feel guilty for not knowing it was on! (Actually, I remember an article comparing Joss Whedon's New Show with Andromeda. Many similarities--except for the suckiness of Andromeda.)
