Battlestar Galactica Theory |

Ok I know everyone watching BSG has thought at one point or another what the real story is. I was thinking about it rewatching some episodes and here's what I think.
I think that humans were taken off of the Earth thousands of years ago, perhaps as many as 4,000 or more years ago, by a race of beings so advanced as to be thought they were gods. They even identified themselves as gods to the humans, and took on mantles of some of their deities. Zeus. Athena. Apollo. They grouped the humans together into 12 'tribes' and named them after their 12 astrological signs. At some point, for some reason, the 12 tribes left Kobol where the aliens/gods had them living, and spread out into the 12 colonies. They took with them little knowledge of Kobol and their past.
I came to this based on the original series partly with things not yet revealed on the new show, but mostly on the new series. How could the original 12 colony flags be based on the constellations of Earth if they'd never been there. The thirteenth tribe went there, but they never heard from them again, so how would they know that.
Over time their 'home' of Earth was lost, and became the location for the thirteenth tribe somehow.
This could put their story anywhere. In our past, present or future, and we might never know which of those it is unless they do find earth. I think however that Earth is the original home for them, they just don't know it.
I just pray that they don't get here, meet wolfman jack and then hop on hover bikes to try and change human history....ugh.

I wonder how far Ron Moore has mapped out the series, or is he just making it up as they go along.

2. I think it's mapped out |

From what I understand he wrote a "BSG Bible". Apparently he plotted out everything from the overarching themes to the truth about earth, etc. It's not something that he has distributed, but supposedly it exists.

I forgot about the BSG bible. He had mentioned it in one of the podcasts. I'm still wondering why they just left that pyramid team behind. Given Starbucks personality you'd think she would be pushing to have them join the fleet.
I can't wait for the new episodes in January.
