William Shatner Leaks Plot of New Star Trek Movie
Thursday, 11 January 2007

SciFi Wire is reporting today that William Shatner has leaked plot details about J.J. Abrams' Star Trek XI movie. Abrams, if you'll recall has broken many good minds with twisty plottage on shows like Alias and Lost. Here's what Shatner has to say:

Yes, we know the story is based on young Kirk. I met with J.J., and they told me they would like me to be part of their film, but they have to write the role. They need to figure out how to put the dead captain in with the young captain. It's a very complex, technical problem of how to write the character in, and I'm not sure how they will solve it.

I'm sure J.J. "the plotmaker" Abrams won't have any trouble coming up with something frustrating and implausible to explain why a Boston lawyer with a taste for dwarf ass an undead sixty-something Captain Kirk has shown up in the middle of twenty-something Cadet Kirk's life. Shatner also 'fessed up that the movie will take place at Starfleet Academy, and will explore Kirk and Spock's early relationship. Ah, the K/S community will be happy tonight.

1. K/S
Finally, someone else who knows about this. Every time I try to tell someone about the K/S stuff they think I'm making it up! I was beginning to think I was imagining it.

The big problem I have with this film already is that Spock couldn't have been at the academy with Kirk! By my calculations he was already serving on the Enterprise with Pike at that time.
