Flash Forward. I like it!
Good tight story. It's another cliffhanger serial. Interesting premise, and good characters. Catch the encore Friday 9/25 on ABC.

It's a Brannon Braga show, so you should know him from ST.

1. I thought is was a little heavy-handed, but I liked it.
Is the season supposed to end on the April 29th date that everyone was seeing? I wonder if the Flash Forward was a one-time thing, or if everyone has another one in April? (I suppose that could make for an awesome cliff-hanger.)

3. Well, fuck.
Nice cliff-hanger, but what good does that do if the series is canceled? x(

2. Might make a better film than a series. They're going to have to keep . . .
pulling rabbits out of hats as they hone in on the April date. Usually a series (especially an expensive series with lots of special effects) needs to get at least four years in the can to make real money in syndication. Can't imagine how they'll keep resetting the clock (or whatever).

That having been said, I was interested to note that it's based on a novel by an author I like quite a lot (Robert J. Sawyer) who wrote an interesting series on Neanderthals from a parallel universe (much better than it sounds).

4. I also like it, and think they've
basically done a good job with the series.

I also liked the original novel a lot, and everything else Sawyer has written.

Another excellent s-f writer I cannot recommend too highly is Robert Wilson. Everything he's written is solid.

5. Now that the series is over, I read the novel.
I liked it. I'll have to try some more Sawyer books.

6. Do so.
And really do check out Bob Wilson's novels. If you like Sawyer, you'll also like Wilson, I'm sure.
