So I just saw a commercial for the upcoming Dukes of Hazzard and I'm wondering. Will they keep the big Confederate Flag on the roof of the General Lee?
I did a quick web search and didn't find anything that stated one way or the other.
I've no desire to see this movie, but I am curious about the question of the flag.
Anyone hear heard anything about that?

1. I don't think it would truly be " Dukes of Hazzard " without it ... |

and this is coming from someone who should be offended by anything dealing with the confederate flag ( I am not offended but thats a totally different subject ) .

2. There aren't many of the old General Lee cars |

out there I would guess. They were very popular before the TV show and it's a good thing because they sure wrecked a lot of them making that show. I used to watch the Dukes on TV with my son because he was about the right age for it when it was on. My husband was quite the wild driver when he was young and we all got a good laugh about all the improbable car stunts. It was also a good opportunity to emphasize that that style of driving would not go in our family. I really have no interest in seeing the movie, I guess I would rather just watch the re-runs on TV.

3. I read an article back when I was a kid and the show was popular... |

It said that the production team contracted with Dodge to produce "demolition" Chargers just for the show. Scaled down, zippo for the interior, just a junk engine in a frame with exterior. I'm sure they can put out a car like that for a couple thousand bucks - no problem fitting that into a production budget!
(I was completely obsessed with that show at the time - I was like in 6-7th grade so I didn't know exactly why Daisy Duke made me feel funny when she wore those short shorts, but she did. LOL)
