8. Classic television shows
Hubby and I received our order from Amazon.com on Friday. We ordered the "Warner Bros. Television Favorites": "Maverick", "Cheyenne", "F Troop" and "Chico and the Man".

We also have "Twilight Zone: Seasons One and Two", and "The Golden Girls" first season.

I'll be placing another order next week for "The West Wing" box set, the third-season "Golden Girls" release, "The Andy Griffith Show", and for another Western television series (either "Have Gun Will Travel", "Wanted: Dead or Alive", or "The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp").

Ken Burns' Civil War
Ken Burns' Baseball

Rather watch any of those than what's on TV now.

10. Reno 911
The extras on tv show DVD collections are great. I wish the Curb Your Enthusiasm DVDs had some commentary or behind the scenes stuff.

12. So far
All but one season of Futurama.
The first two seasons of Survivor.
Newsradio (the next seasons need to be better done. Can't cram 8-10 episodes with commentary on a disc, after all.) (And they need to hurry up. F-Troop is out, but Newsradio's later seasons aren't?)

Soon to get:

Deadwood, both seasons (great, great show)
Lost, season one (maybe, probably)
that first season of Futurama
Survivor: Pearl Islands (I can't yet bring myself to get All Stars, but I'll break down and do it soon, I'm sure)
Amazing Race, Season 1, if the extras are cool enough.

We tend to rent shows through Netflix (one of the best uses of Netflix, actually). Our queue right now has a ton of Britcoms, the last few seasons of Homicide, etc. The key is to switch it up so you don't get burned out on one show.

I love the Sopranos, but not enough to spend a hundred dollars per season when I can rent 'em whenever I want. As opposed to Deadwood, where I have multiple episodes I love to watch over and over. (The season one conclusion is incredible.)

Still looking to add Deadwood, Survivor Pearl Islands next month, and that third season of Newsradio is coming out next month as well.

13. I have a question re what TV to buy.
We watch movies and old TV shows at our house, but we're finding more and more of the DVDs we want to buy are wide screen format.

What kind of TV do we need to get in order to find a larger selection of stuff to watch, and will the movies/shows we already have work on a wide screen. We currently have a 21 inch screen, and this seems to be fine for us. Or, will the wide screen format work on our old TV?

We have Leave it to Beaver, Ozzie and Harriet, a set of a mixture of old westerns (Rawhide, Gunsmoke, etc.), and a whole bunch of movies both DVD and VHS

14. I have a Law & Order
two episode pack that was distributed for Emmy consideration. What I'd really like to get is the complete "I'll Fly Away" on DVD as well as the miniseries "Oppenheimer". Haven't seen either one available; IFA only sells on ebay as fan tapings off the tube, and Oppenheimer can't be had for love or money.

17. Family Guy and South Park
at the moment. We got those as there was a time when we couldn't watch South Park on television. Our area, had some sort of weird thing where they would NOT get comedy central, because it was one of the city's public access channels. There was a general understanding that they could easily flip some stuff around and give the public Comedy Central, and still have public access channels--they just refused.

After a lot of grief from disgruntled customers calling and complaining, and many dropping the cable service altogether they finally picked up Comedy Central. :dunce: Duh! The whole thing was just so silly, imo.

By that time, we had bought an entire season. LOL! But they hold up well over time, so we eventually switched and got dvd.

Family Guy we just loved so much. Started buying the DVDs after it was canceled.

I may invest in Alfred Hitchcock presents at some point.
