Survivor Official Thread, Ep 4
I really loved the "twist". It was great to see Judd perk up. I had no doubt he would jump ship. I can see Judd Jamie and Stef doing well.

Brroke was a smart boot, she was useless.

I still love Stephanie. What did you all think of the episode.

1. Judd's dead
His move is the only thing that could have woken Margaret up. Now she can pull the rest of the "weak" together to boot out the strong. Or, alternatively, Judd's the first to go when the weak get booted.

Because Yakum isn't winning any more challenges. Yaxha may be the stongest tribe in Survivor history.

2. I wish Steph had a voice coach!
I like her too but that nasally Fran Drescher whine is killing me!

Did you see Brooke on the Early Show? She said Steph was the weakest link and that creative editing made it look like Lydia was.

Do you think Gary is going to manage to hide his identity the whole time?

3. Sour grapes
I can't agree with Brooke. Creative editing can help show someone's likability, and I am sure Brunet is playing Stephanie's charisma for all the ratings he can. That said, I just don't believe that editing can make Steph look like a strong team member when she is the weakest link. Who knows though.

I think Gary is going to make the mistake of letting someone in on his secret and then he will be ousted.

4. strong team member?
Yeah, she's just happened to have the bad luck to go 4-21 in challenges. She's so, so strong, after all. She even went 0-4 in individual challenges, proving she's "arguably" the strongest female survivor ever, even stronger than Kelly Wigglesworth, who won 5, including 4 ICs in a row.

:hi:

5. If it doesn't matter who wins then why do they keep score
Steph is a tough girl. She is physically stronger than any of the girls in this season's game. That does not make her the best survivor woman ever. It means she has an advantage and a disadvantage. She is a good person to have in a physical challenge, but she did not show that she is very good at puzzles last season.

I have always admitted my reason for liking stephanie is mostly a physical attraction. She reminds me a great deal of my wife when we were young. I don't have any illusions that she is the best female player ever, but I do think she is one of the most physically gifted females to ever play the game. She played the game well enough to get to the final three in her tribe and somehow played Bobby John into keeping her in last season when he could have kept his Alabama brother (forget his name right now).

Going into a tribe like she did last season was something we have never seen before in this game. She was not a good enough player to find her place to stay. I don't think this makes her the worst player ever. I think she was a very good player, but not good enough to win. she is not good enough to win this year either, but her physical strength can not be denied.

You use of the word "strong" is interesting. When someone says "she's arguably the strongest female survivor ever", I would think they are referring to physical strength, such as ability to lift and carry weight over a distance. I would not think it was a rating on the overall ability of a survivor, just one of the components. I think Kelly was a better overall player than Stephanie, but I don't think she is stronger than Steph.

When building a tribe, I like physically strong people, because they help with the difficult initial camp work, help with the physical challenges, and put themselves out on a limb in the game by their success in camp and at challenges. They are great, because they take the spotlight off the eventual finalists, people like Jenna, Amber, Tina, Rob C, Boston Rob, Richard and so on. Steph is not destined to win, but I hope she sticks around for awhile longer, if for no other reason than so I can keep seeing her in the bikini.

6. well
by physically strong, how about Alicia Callaway? This season, I'd say Danni is up there, too.

I'm just saying that she hasn't shown any skill at winning challenges. Even the endurance challenge on Palau, which women traditionally win, she didn't win.

I think "strongest female Survivor ever" would have to refer to more than brute strength, or it's a meaningless thing to bring up. Mitchell was the tallest Survivor ever. Doesn't mean a thing.
