Anybody watching "The Apprentice"? |
|
I'm taking a break from CSI and have a question: Why is Rebecca from "Excel" on crutches? What happened to her?
Thanks, in advance!

1. Rebecca injured her ankle... |
|
...when she slipped and fell while playing ice hockey during the reward segment of the Lamborghini episode (9/29). I believe she said it was broken.

2. Hey, thanks! I didn't think anyone would respond. |
|
I missed that episode. I used to watch CSI but it's gotten a bit too graphic for me lately!
Thanks! :hi:

3. Rebecca seems to be one of the strongest players |
|
though she almost blew it when she foolishly refused to bring Toral to the boardroom. Toral had her convinced that they were superior to the others and should stick together. They also bonded when Rebecca broke her ankle and Toral went with her to the hospital.
Donald admired Rebecca for her loyalty and sticking to her convictions so she survived getting fired. Then the next week, Toral wouldn't "step up the plate," a phrase we heard ad nauseam. She refused to be project manager and wouldn't wear the Dairy Queen costume that her team designed, which was the task for the show, for "cultural reasons." Anyway, Rebecca admitted that she screwed up in backing Toral and Toral was fired.
Other than that misjudgment, Rebecca seems to have a good head on her shoulders. I think it will come down to Rebecca and Randal.

4. yeah but some of the dumb stuff these people do... |
|
is really starting to bug me. I think a lot of it is due to simple youth and inexperience. They really need to start putting on older more experienced people. We "old folks" may not be so photogenic but it would be a helluva lot more interesting.
Last week when that one group missed their meeting-- first of all, they should never have missed it, but if they couldn't make it in 10 minutes they shouldve just gone ahead and had their discussion by phone. Its just plain stupid to expect anyone's going to wait 45 minutes or an hour for you to show up!
Has anyone seen Martha's version? I've seen it a couple of times and enjoyed it--she critiques the groups' (usually dysfunctional) dynamics pretty well. But its up against LOST. What WERE they thinking....? Now I hear its been cancelled.

6. I watch Martha's version |
|
I like it and was wondering the same thing... why put it against "Lost"? What a ridiculous idea! I missed the first two episodes of "Lost" so have been recording them (and not watching) until I can see the two I missed!
Trump cracks me up at times but his "the world's best suite, the world's best water, the most fantastic golf course" etc. (when referring to anything by Trump) is getting really annoying. Martha hypes her own stuff, too, but in a much less egotistical way.
I think they should have aired Martha's "Apprentice" in the fall and then Trump's in the spring (or vice versa). It could go in the same time slot and we wouldn't have to get tired of Trump having two of them a season. (that is what he did last year, right?)

7. It's gotta be Randall, fer sure! |
|
Intelligent, perceptive, articulate, wry humor, good instincts, good natured and unflappable-- what's not to like? I laughed when he told Rebecca "dont get neurotic on me."

8. but there is a "big surprise" |
|
I have my high school communication class watch the show and then they discuss communication theory on the show on a chat board. This is my second year doing so, and it works pretty well.
Anyway, several members of my class think that Trump is going to hire them both. 'Cause he's wacky and shit like that.

11. That would be pretty hard to do, cheaply |
|
I remember hearing contestants complain about being brought back at the end for the last challenge, but Trump and NBC had them by the short hairs because the contract they sign says they are basically "on-call" until it is all over even if they are fired.
Would be fun though. Throwing a little bone to those who have watched from 1. I want that guy who sang all the time to come back.

9. Randall is most certainly the one that should be hired |
|
He is clearly the most qualified and Rebecca was terrible from the first task on. In fact, I thought Rebecca wouldn't last past the second week. Perhaps her getting injured has something to do with why she is still around.

Someone on TWoP called this the 'Pottery Barn Rule.' Trump broke her, now he has to buy her.
