Amazing new thing I found on my DVR |

This is so cool. I've got a ton of stuff I want to back up onto VHS, but haven't for one reason or another (for instance, I waited to see if this season of Survivor would be any good; it is).
So there's a new feature called "copy to VCR". If you have the cables set up right, and the VCR set up right, you can have the DVR play back something directly to the VCR, while watching something else on the TV. Granted you lose your PiP function, but big whoop.
I can record all this stuff in the background now, which is going to make life so much better.
Once I get the DVR's memory cleared, I'm calling them to come replace it, though. It's started stuttering a lot, freezing, etc. Very annoying.

I've been a recording fool ever since! I go through the guide and find things I want to record at all times of day or night, then transfer it to videotape to watch when I exercise upstairs. This way, I don't have to worry about filling up the hard drive of the DVR. Cool, isn't it?
