I think our propane company is price gouging...... |
|
They're charging $2.33/gallon. That's sounding a little high. My parents live in Northeast Texas and they're paying $1.75/gallon.
Anyone else out there got any pricing information they'd be willing to share?
I'm thinking we're taking it up the bobo on this deal.
Thanks for any info.

1. Texas energy company price gouging? |
|
Thats hard to believe....
Ok sarcasm off....
I know that there are wide price variations between different propane companies here in California. The company that supplies our house is a total rip-off compared to other companies that deliver in the area. We had a large bill and tried to make a partial payment and then catch it up, and they said no, we would have to pay them the full amount or they would cut us off. I told them great, you'll never see a dime of that bill, and I don't care if you give me a bad credit report cuz my credit is so fucked already that it won't really matter. I left the office cussing and giving the finger to the redneck losers that run the place.

this winter gasoline has been between $1.69 and $1.95 and both of my deliveries of propane have been at $2.70/gallon.

I have a problem here in Texas. My company who I have been with since 1996 has been sold to another Company. Now they want me to pay.$3.20 per gallon for propane, while some of their other customers are paying $2.66. When I bought the last 100 gallons in Oct, I paid $2.25.
Lucky for me, I always call and check the price first. I am about to make waves come Monday.

4. I got charged $3.05 a gallon here in east TN. |
|
I use to do a pre-buy in the summer when prices were low but no matter how much I bought (I got as much as 500 gallons one year) It was never enough. My husband has a friend who does deliveries for LP. The friend said that with pre-buys, they would pump gas into other people's tanks and charge it to the pre-buyer account because the pre-buyer had no way of knowing how much was pumped into their tanks.
Even so I think we are being gouged now. I tried to find another LP service but guess what? There isn't another one around here that delivers. Since they have a monopoly, they can screw us.
I guess I'll be using electricity as much as possible from now on.
