Conservation group hopes to buy pristine U.P. Michigan waterfront property
Apparently, development has reached the most remote part of Michigan's upper peninsula, the Keewenaw peninsula. Having hiked the Hunter's Point area, I was surprised to hear that it was being threatened by development. I hope the efforts to protect the land are successful.

1. I hope they are successful
Personally protecting large tracks of land, fighting sprawl and over development are the issues I find most pressing.

2. That's my neck of the woods
I was raised in the Keewenaw. It will always be home for me. In fact, I'll be there this week! Need to pack the bird book with me and borrow my mom's binoculars and see if I can't catch some of those northern birds we never see in Ohio.

That's the best part of Michigan right there, no doubt about it.

3. I agree
I loved the Estivant pines area. The waterfalls, Brockway Mountain Drive, the lakeshore...
