JK testifying on climate change to Boxer's committee today
The Boston Globe has his opening statement. It started at 9:30 this morning and is still going on. (here is the live video link, though they are near the end of panel 2 (Jackson is speaking) - http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Hearings.LiveStream It is also on CSPAN3 (I assume they will have an archive link on the committee page after it is over and as it is carried on CSPAN 3 it likely will be played on the CSPANs later and will be archived.)

As he was still attacking Kerry, even though Kerry was the first witness and there were many others, I can imagine Kerry blew him out of the water when Inhofe questioned him. (I had forgotten that it was suppose to start today - and missed it till seeing the BG article. It has really been a busy year for the Senator.)

Just listening now - Kerry even reached out to Inhofe.

4. I was listening as I puttered around the house doing other things.
It was a great hearing. A lot of information and a lot of spin from Repubs with a web of nonsense. I hope they play it again latter tonignt.

6. For your amusement, the WP on what it was like to be Inhofe at the hearing

Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, committed climate-change denier, found himself in just such a position Tuesday morning as the Senate environment committee, on which he is the ranking Republican, took up legislation on global warming. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) was in talks with Democrats over a compromise bill -- the traitor! And as Inhofe listened, fellow Republicans on the committee -- turncoats! -- made it clear that they no longer share, if they ever did, Inhofe's view that man-made global warming is the "greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people."

<snip>
Kerry went on like this for an extraordinary 26 1/2 minutes that included the phrase, uttered with no apparent self-consciousness, "we invented wind." At various points, Kerry signaled an end with "I'll just close" or "I'll just end on this note" but continued on. This infuriated nobody as much as Inhofe, whom Kerry repeatedly singled out for a lecture. "Senator Inhofe, you just talked about the costs of doing some of this," he said. But "the cost of doing nothing," Kerry countered, "is far more expensive for your folks in Oklahoma."

He described the Democrats' proposal as "the largest tax increase in -- in history!" Agitated, his utterances disjointed, Inhofe went on: "Now, I also was -- was kind of -- I don't want any of the media to think just because I had to sit here and listen to our good friend Senator Kerry for 28 minutes, that I don't have responses to everything he said."

<snip>
Nobody doubted that Inhofe had a response. The doubt was whether the response would make any sense.

It is no surprise that Milbank has snarky comments on Kerry and picks the worst points, but he is devastating on Inhofe.

(With Kerry, I always get the feeling that he feels he needs to prove he is smarter than the good Senator - but he isn't even close.)

7. Milbank has some issue with Senator Kerry. Maybe it is about Kerry being so smart.
But, I don't read much of Milbank because of his snark.
