I'm not giving the whole quote because it makes me sick. But we have to deal with this person as she gets endless media coverage. And yes, she goes after him via The Joke.

1. I saw that- fuel for her wacky base. They hate JK.

The only way to deal with her is to ignore her and the media to do so as well. Frankly, I can't see her keeping this up for 2-3 years until the next election- she will have to get more and more outlandish and this will make her even more unelectable. Her talking points are all cliff notes and she has an ego as big as they come- I heard her tell O'Reilly last night that she thinks she is qualified to be President- a very scary thought. She wrote a get even book devoid of any substance.
Senator Kerry made the book, I think because he suggested that she needed to go away. (Remember the SC Gov. disappearance? He suggested it was too bad she wouldn't disappear).
The media and pundits needs some fun in between elections and they appear to be having a good time promoting this idiot. What bothers me is that the media thinks it is ok to ask our President and our SOS about her- like she was really that important.

3. He also countered for "energy/environmental" oped in the WP
Rather effectively. She likely was also likely mad that one of the more common comments on hers was that she didn't write it - no one sad that of JK. That says something right there.

2. That eliminates any sympathy I ever had for her - and I never had much
The fact is something she never will be a person of integrity, intelligence and gravitas. The fact is that Palin is a joke, a bad joke. (The truly sad and funny thing is that her son actually a true example of the misstatement Kerry made - he ended up in Iraq because he could not get accepted to Alaska's state university where he wanted to play sports because he did not have a 2.0. )

I really think that this is a last hurrah for her. Think of the people she alienated - likely most of the Republicans that have experience on campaigns, and much of the mainstream media. Seriously, attacking Katie Couric is pretty dumb. If there ever was a time when an "anybody but" campaign could work - this is it.

5. She's used up her 15 minutes more than an hour ago
Palin is an embarrassment to our gender. She is stupid, uninformed, ignorant, yet full of hubris and arrogant. From what I've seen, her book is nothing but whining, shirking responsibility, maligning, and laying blame. What a source of pride that must be for such a small minded creature.

What really irks me here is that the media just WILL not stop covering this trainwreck. And calling JK an Elitist loon is rich coming from a white trash nutcase.

6. Totally agree with what you guys have said already..
How dare she attack a decorated war hero who literally risked his life for his country this way, WILLFULLY disregarding the full and actual context of the actual quote to make her little (and very worn...you could find this very same thing on most any Freeper thread about him) "point"? :grr: How unprofessional! And I'm sorry, but until she gives even half the service to this country (not only militarily , but in terms of public service...I'm sorry, but the man has served multiple terms and was very, very nearly elected President and is a very imporant statesman and essentially a diplomat; she quit in the middle of her first term), she's not even nearly in the same league as he is, not even fit to fill his baby shoes! She wants to talk about respect for military service? Well, Ms. Sarah, what about the fact that he was over there putting his life on the line for his country and the men on that boat while you were still in Kindergarten? Oh wait, I forgot..you only ever get credit for that if you are a Republican. :eyes:

I have to say, though I always kinda got this vibe about her, I'm still rather taken aback at just how nasty and petty she's being with this book. I've never seen another political figure, Democrat, Republican, or otherwise personally attack other politicians, campaign workers, etc in their memoirs like she has. I'm sorry, but she does herself absolutely no favors with this and only serves to further prove her critics' points about her.

I mean, it's bad enough she called him an "elitist" (that's honestly so worn out of a label that it's like "whatever.."), but a "loon"? SO personally ugly, not to mention astonishingly unprofessional and direspectful. Plus she doesn't even include an index in her book. Seems like a cop out to me, considering all the name dropping she does within it..

The more she pulls stuff like this, the more she marginalizes herself. I frankly think she makes a lot of her own enemies...

That said, I look forward to seeing her being utterly trounced (again) in '12.

7. Oh, nice. Here is what a Palin fan said to dkos diarist Jeffrey Feldman
who wrote a thoughtful diary on why Palin is attractive to many Americans.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/11/20/806323/-...Why-People-Like-to-Stuff-People-Like-You-into-Ovens

This morning I woke up to find an email response to my recent piece on Sarah Palin ("Don't Get Palin's Appeal? Try a Little Harder"):

Thank you, I had forgotten why people like to stuff people like you into ovens.........

If you really think hard, you can figure out that "people like you" refers to my being Jewish, which this reader must have deduced from my last name, which sounds--Jewish.

This makes my stomach hurt. Call me naive, but I didn't know there could be a person who could say such a thing .... Anyway, apparently they were defending Sarah Palin. Nice.

8. This seems to be the teabagger and Palin crowd's latest slur.
Now they have something against those of the Jewish faith. I have heard a member of JK's family being referred to as this in recent postings on some blog site.
There are some real sick puppies out there and they are all coming out of the woodwork because the likes of Beck and Palin make them feel comfortable about revealing their prejudices in public.

9. during the 2008 campaign, it seemed to me that the greatest thing
Edited on Fri Nov-20-09 06:06 PM by MBS
about Obama and the Obama campaign is that he and his campaign seemed to bring out the best in people. Palin, Beck et al are the stark opposite: they bring out the worst in people (or they encourage the worst people to feel emboldened to speak out . maybe it's kind of the same thing). Having grown up in southern California, where I lived among a strong contingent of far-right folks long before the movement went national, and with parents who witnessed the Holocaust up close and personal (including friends who escaped from concentration camps, and worse, those who perished there), I feel like I've been fighting these folks all my life --even, in a sense, fighting them before I was born. At bottom, Palin and Beck, and most of all, the enthusiasts for Palin and Beck, just plain scare me. :puke: :scared:

10. Yes, they scare me too. There is too much hatred and a lack of understanding
for opinions that differ from theirs. And, it bothers me that Palin and Beck know it is wrong to encourage these people, but they do it anyway for their own benefit.

11. Wow - that is disgusting
I hate that the media glosses over the high number of hate filled people who follow her and who go to the tea parties, this is beyond sickening -- and the result of him commenting on Palin and her fans.
