Ha ha Springsteen won't sing for Christie's innaugartion

New Jersey governor-elect Chris Christie is a die-hard Bruce Springsteen fan. He's been to 122 Boss concerts, and was very much hoping that his 123rd would be his inaugural. So he asked Bruce and his band if they would play. But Bruce, a die-hard Democrat, turned the Republican Christie down. Even though he's played for Barack Obama and John Kerry, he claims he "doesn’t want to get involved in state politics." Ouch

122 concerts and he likely never really listened to the lyrics! I loved Springsteen's comments before his Madison, WI concert appearance with Kerry. His values are good Democratic values. If, true, I am shocked Christie ever thought it a possibility.

I wonder if anyone told Christie that he not only performed for Kerry and Obama - after years of staying out of politics, but that he gave Kerry a guitar when he saw him after the election. Not to mention paying him the honor of using his 1971 words in a song. Something tells me, if Christie's words or actions are ever referenced in a Springsteen song - they won't be positive.

1. Springsteen is no hypocrite. His appearance would look like he approves of Christie's
politics which he obviously does not. Although, outside of politics Christie can't be all bad if he loves the Boss. But,then,as you said, maybe he never really listened to the words in a lot of Springsteen's songs.

2. In a way, Christie is paying for...
... the douchenozzlery of the Republican Party. If only they hadn't been so monolithically authoritarian and irrational, we'd be better able to give mojo to those individual Republicans who have some brain and heart.

JK through it all is still able to see the human beings behind the inhuman party, even after everything we've seen. His example is SUCH a tall order to follow, which is one reason he's such a great man.
