He really was one of the best at healing international rifts. I remember when I was in elementary school reading about him trying to fix the rift between the Catholics and Greek Orthodox church. Now to many who do not know about the rift, it may not seem liek a big deal but it is a huge deal. His apology to the Jews for the silence was a great thing too. He reached out in many ways to those who the church has wronged in the past.
