1. Do you remember when you were a kid? |
|
Have you ever watched children make friends? It takes little kids about 30 seconds to make new friends with other children. I don't know why, but it seems like once we hit puberty we start to lose our ability to make new friends. By the time we graduate high school or college it can seem impossible to make new friends.
But take a cue from the little kids and try doing it their way. Just walk up to people and start talking to them. Some of them might think you're a weirdo, but I'll bet that you'll run across some people who are just like you- people who could use a new friend. I'm a trucker and I run across a lot of lonely people in my trade. Sometimes I'll just start talking to other drivers, using the little kid method, and it works like a charm.

2. Yes. You stake out your turf -- places where you want to feel comfortable |
|
like your grocery store or your cafe or wherever you want to hang out and you can slowly start to make friends with people there.
Did you move, UTO?
