Is Anybody Familiar with SAM-e?
I have heard it was successful in combating depression. I have researched online a little and found some articles that say the same thing. Due to my skeptical nature, I was hoping to hear from others that may use or have knowledge regarding this dietary supplement.

Also... is it effective for anxiety? And finally, are there any brands I should stay away from, since dietary supplements are not regulated or held to high scrutiny before hitting the market? In other words... I do not want snake oil.

Thanks peeps.

1. Didn't do much for me
though I think it helped with my joint pain. I just posted something that *does* work for me on another thread, though. Supplements are generally every bit as effective-if not more so- than many prescription drugs. Think of all of Big Pharmas concoctions that have killed people in recent years; are they really under scrutiny, or do they just have really effective lobbyists?

2. Good Point
And hello again! It hasn't really done much for me in the last week or so. I now take Paxil.

3. Here's the thread I mentioned

The Alpha-stim works better for me than any drugs or supplements have-and I've tried A LOT in the past 20 years! It generally doesn't cost anything to try it, either-unlike every drug on the market.

4. Interesting Info...
I am now on Paxil. My doc started me on a low dosage and yet I get pains in the back of head. I believe it's from a vitamin B deficiency since most anti-depressant zap the body of much needed nutrients. After taking a multi-vitamin the head aches stop... no kidding.

Anyway... I've been down this road most of my life. It sucks, but I'll get through this.
