Anyone here live with their parents or in assisted living? |
|
Yes, I do live with my parents in a basement at 24, which is very embarrassing.

1. I saw a special on one the magazine shows and it said more and more |

adult children are living with their parents or moving back in after some time. I was in my parent's house at your age and they have given me money all of my life. It was hard to accept at times but that's just the way things are.
You can tell people you are saving up for a house.

2. Lots of people live with their parents or with other family members. |
|
I did for a while in my mid twenties.
It's all right to get help from your family. That's what families are for. :)

5. The nuclear family is an unnatural phenomenon. |

Created in the conservative 1950's. Before then, the extended family was much more available for support purposes. That's my theory.

is 33 and lives with my parents. His Son stays over when he has him. This is a normal middle class family mind you. My brother has a good job but has been bankrupt and is trying to get back on his feet. Living with your parents at 24 is nothing to worry about, though, the sooner you move out, in general, the better.

4. Don't let it get you down. I had to do that, too, for awhile. |
|
It's not like I had a choice. Finally I couldn't stand it anymore and moved out, but I still need both financial and physical assistance, especially after major surgery. I'm feeling better, but I'm still not at a point where I can handle even living on my own with no help. :(
