I know I am a FAILURE. I HAVE TO GIVE UP MY FAITH IN GOD! I DO NOT WANT TO GIVE IT UP!

Sorry for being an asshole.

1. You are not an asshole, elshiva
You and I have talked in the past about your low feelings of self worth. I can just about guarantee you that you are a good person with just a horrible case of low self esteem. That's not your fault. Throw in a serious mental illness with your low self esteem and you've got a complicated problem. Your illness is also not your fault.

Regarding groups of people, I used to have a real hard time with that, too. I was paranoid. I was thinking that other people could see into my mind and that they were judging my thoughts. I was afraid to leave the house. All of that was caused by a disease in my brain and it turned out to be treatable. You will see that that is true when you start getting the treatment that you need. Hang in there, elshiva, and don't forget that we are here for you in this group. Also feel free to PM me if you need to talk about things in private. You can trust me on that.

2. But still, you persist.
When you look at it from where I sit, I don't see a failure. I see someone surviving against some pretty daunting odds. That, in the times which we live, is pretty damned good. In fact, in some ways, you are doing a hell of a lot better than I am, and for that I admire you.

How are you doing better?

You have and keep a job. I have not had a "real" job in quite a while. Not for lack of trying, I assure you, but these are the times that try men's souls. But in comparison to me, using the normative societal barometer, you are doing a hell of a lot better than I am. Even with those aspects of your life that make things oh-so-difficult to even get out the door in the morning.

I find that go-to-hell impressive, actually. Worthy of admiration.

Let me know if you want or need to talk. PM me if you want and I will send you my Skype number. Don't know about Skype? With a headset, Skype and a good internet connection, we can talk for free. For hours. Whenever you want. Encrypted for rock-solid privacy. Give the idea some consideration.

4. God loves the lonely, too
Even if you can't be in groups, God hasn't forgotten. Even Jesus went into the wilderness to be alone at times.

Just stay safe. If you don't feel safe, call somebody and get to the hospital.

5. Why would you have to give up your faith?
What's goin' on, Elshiva?

I still say a rl support group would be a good thing for you. Do you have one? Do you need help in finding one?
