Anxiety or something else? |
|
Hi,
I have not been feeling like myself since late November. I came down with a virus that had positional dizziness, fatigue, vomiting, and gas. I also got a weird, lightheaded head feeling, trouble concentrating, and headaches.
I look fine now and my diet is back to normal when I'm not nervous. I think the virus is probably gone, but I am still waking up fatigued in the morning even after a good sleep, and I don't get much better until the night. I have more gas than usual, and sometimes going to stores tires me out. Still have a low mood. I had a CAT scan which was normal, and my blood test turned out ok. Only my liver AFP level was a bit high (the range is 30-70 and mine was 74.) The doctor is not concerned, and thinks I have generalized anxiety. I think I make myself worse by worrying about what I have so much and thinking about it a lot.
So do think that this is just anxiety disorder?

I'm not an MD and am just brainstorming here... Having more gas made me think of that... food intolerance can cause fatigue (gluten, dairy, etc). Fatigue also comes with depression. If your doctor thinks you have anxiety, did s/he prescribe something for that. One way to find out is if you feel better on medication. The med I'm on treats anxiety and depression.

I did have more gas before all this started. I was prescribed anxiety medication, and while I feel a bit better, it is not helping with my physical and mental fatigue.

http://www.endocrineweb.com/thyroiditis.htmlIt's misdiagnosed a lot so maybe you ought to check it out.

10. And look into pernicious anemia, |
|
about which I learned a bit recently, so will follow up with md. Sounds really bad, but not; easily treatable.

before assuming it's "just" anxiety. My sister was mis-diagnosed for several years with panic attacks and GAD and it was thyroid function all along.

Could that come with terribly unrefreshing sleep, annoying spaciness, and scary lightheadedness? It doesn't seem to be getting any better, and no day is normal. I'll mention this to my doctor on Tuesday.
Or maybe this could be Chronic Fatigue Syndrome instead of anxiety?
One thing I've noticed is that my tinnitus sounds kind of piercing and sinister.

9. Sometimes I get a good sleep, but.. |
|
the more I sleep, the worse I feel. And I battle sleepiness most of the day. Naps don't work; my mind is too wired even though it feels tired. Thanks - hope I find out the cause of this really disruptive pattern!
