1. Wow. I was on Lamictal for exactly three days and all my alarms went off.
And, I stopped it and called the doctor.

Thanks, fed-up. Check back in if you can when you get back.

2. in and out today-this am was Social Security disability mental health exam
"liscensed psychologist" said I probably wasn't bipolar, more like had anxiety and depression

said I wasn't bipolar :"because I sat in the chair the entire interview"

but now my neck is killing me and I have a horendous headache from having to sit in the f*cking chair for 2 hours on top of still feeling slightly crappy from the lamictal poisoning

in what manual is sitting(or not) for an interview part of the criteria for bipolar?????
not one question related to what my highs or lows were like (or even if I had them) or to try and distinguish mania from hypomania

mostly it seemed like an intelligence test

word definitions
copy figures by drawing them
remembering stories
finish the picture/pattern with the right choice of 4 or 5 samples
saying why two things were similar-table/chair fly/tree etc
and a few other tests

I think I did okay on the definitions, similarities and logic, but sucked at the memory tasks

nothing like having to see firsthand that your short-term memory is full of gaping holes...

3. Remember that these people are looking for the rightest box to check
not exactly evaluating your situation. You sound a lot like me. I have a lot of bi-polar stuff going on but no one would ever DX me that way. Instead, it's always anxiety and depression. I guess I'm not good enough at it. :dunce:

Good for you for getting through that.

6. Oddly, Lamictal is the only med I take (non cancer related) that I like.
I have had no increase in my suicidal thoughts, mostly because increasing them would be tough, and partly because it seems very mellow to me. I've had some bad anti-depressant adventures, but the Lamictal is the only one I can;t complain about.

I think this illustrates how different all of us are, and why one drug may work fine for one and not the other. I hate every med BUT the Lamictal. Even my thyroid meds piss me off (different story for a different forum :P)
