Just learned Spitzer's daughters
are 14, 16 and 18. Its disturbing me a lot, as I know what trauma family problems have caused my daughters, now 23 and 19.

2. Every family has its challenges.
Whether we look at it through memories of childhood or through our eyes as parents, knowing what our kids went through.

Both of my parents screwed up, up one side and down the other. My kids' dad and I screwed up, too, starting with how young we were when we had our kids.

Imho, what matters is what you do with it. My mom became the neighborhood drunk just when I was in that awful early teen age. But she also later became the neighborhood inspiration -- recovering, re-inventing herself, and reaching out to other people in trouble. Life happens all over us.

I believe those girls will be fine, they will get through this time.
