I really hate my meds...
They sometimes make me feel like a walking zombie: Trileptal and Keppra. Even though they keep my seizures under control, they will make my day like hell. I can't pay attention or it's hard to things when I'm on them. I'm so sleepy when I take them. It's also hard on my parents too.

They're planning to take me off the Trileptol and fully on Kepra.

5. do you sleep well/enough?
you sorta sound like me before i got my fibromyalgia treated. sleep is of crucial importance for your brain.

6. I hate my meds too.
All of them.

As a young man I floundered around quite a bit before I came to some sort of grudging acceptance that unlike most people, I wasn't going to be functional without meds.

Bad roll of the dice I was born with some noisy circuits, just as some people are born missing limbs.

You can't grow a missing arm or leg by any kind of self discipline you can only adjust to your situation. Maybe you get prosthetics, maybe you take drugs -- you have to work with what you've got, not with what you wish you had.

Keep working on it, keep looking for better answers, and there will be more and more periods where things are better rather than worse.

Good luck!

7. I admire your answer.
Coming to the realization that you have to HAVE to take meds for the rest of your life is not easy. My 23-year-old has had a hard time accepting that he must take them.

I showed him your answer, and it made a lot of sense to him.

Thank you.

8. sometimes the noisy circuits come with amazing abilities.
if you read the book touched with fire, you get an idea of the gifts that can come with the drawbacks. artistic ability of all kinds is all over my family. so is bpd. mostly people have both.
i got the talent and a different set of brain noise, which makes my body tired and achy at best. i take a handful of pills every day, and i am cranky and sleepy without them.

i think be grateful for the good things, and do the best you can with the bad part you are stuck with is about all a human can do.
and in this day and age, you can still hope that a better treatment can come along. i know it has gotten better for me over the years.
