Andrea Bocelli
Not really classical so much, but any fans here?

I first heard him through a teacher back in high school (im now 26) and have bought his CDs since then.

I have always wanted to see him live - anyone so lucky?

1. Bocelli is talented, but the over-schmaltzty repertoire and performances..
make him a pop singer in my book, just as Mario Lanza chose to be.

5. I agree... His voice is stronger than Lanza's was, but
schmaltzy all the same.... even more so.

2. I have his Sacred Arias CD, and I really love it.
He's not an operatically trained singer, but I think has a beautiful voice.

6. I like him
I even like the schmaltzy ones he sings. One of my favorites is his Verdi album, though.

7. I think he has a nice voice but the question is ..
how he would perform in an opera house without amplification of his voice. I've only heard hom on recordings or at televised miked performances.
