'Boston Brass' with pipe organ
tomorrow night SUNY at Fredonia.

One trombone, two trumpets, one French horn and one baritone horn. Accompanied by King Concert Hall's Schlicker organ.

It is Christmas Music-hardly classical, but still it should be an interesting concert.

Anybody familiar with the 'Boston Brass'?

Brass is Best!

1. Have a wonderful time!
I personally love going to Christmas concerts but mostly hate playing them. This should be a really good one. Please report back to us. Organ and Brass should be wonderful doing Christmas music together.

3. It was a beautiful concert.
Also what I took to be a baritone horn in the picture was in fact a tuba.

Baby Pat remarked right up front about the 'smoothness' of the brass.

We were disappointed with the organ. It certainly was not 'Phantom of the Opera 'quality.

Shane was more appreciative of the brass music than he was of the string orchestra of last year.

The quintet are extremely accomplished musicians.

Their 'Jingle Bells Forever' variation to the tempo and sync of 'Stars and Stripes Forever' got the packed concert hall to giggling! Wha----Hooooooo!

My own very favorite was variations on 'Greensleeves' Enough to bring tears to an old mans eyes. You might say.

5. Wonderful!
Whenever one can be moved to tears you have experienced what music truly is. This, of course, is only my opinion. I think I may have heard that Jingle Bells selection, don't know where but it sounds familiar and fun. Too bad about the organ though. Nothing like a great brass concert to bring in the season. I wish I could have been there. I am so glad you got to go and thanks for reporting on it.
