What's your favorite classical radio station?
Doesn't matter if its streaming, satellite or good ol' radio. Inquiring minds want to know.

My streaming tastes (all FM):
KUSC (USC radio)
KCPE Raleigh NC
KING in Seattle WA (I also listen to this in the car)
WGMS in DC (I grew up with this station)

2. Try KBPS in Portland
It's at http://www.allclassical.org

It is locally programmed during daylight hours, is non-commercial, and plays full-length works with no restrictions. Besides that, the announcers and staff are all Democrats!

(I know. I used to volunteer there.)

3. I don't have one at the moment.

The only local public station featuring classical music abandoned the format recently, but for opera broadcasts, and I don't listen to the one classical commercial station often enough to have the loyalty.

4. B.B.C. Radio3
I'm in the U.K. and so broadcast means either Radio3 or ClassicF.M. - the latter is ghastly beyond belief, the whole approach is completely dumbed-down, and the music only ventures beyond a comfortable mainstream for a few moments every couple of months; they very rarely play entire pieces of music, rather playing a single movement, or an exerpt (always the 'famous bit').

Radio3 is not exclusively classical, it also carries some Jazz, world-music and speech - but all get a serious approach and classical is dominant. There is a full concert every evening, and throughout the summer months every single Prom concert is carried live.

It is available over the internet as well http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/

6. I agree....
I listened to WBJC long before I found WETA - and because of that I always found the commercial breaks on WETA to be incredibly bothersome.

7. WNED 94.5 FM...
out of Buffalo, NY. 24/7 all classical. Simply the best. Not many towns can brag about having a great all classical station. I think even NYC junked theirs.
Long live WNED!
