Dragonlance Movie in Production
I read these books before LOTR, so I didn't realise how derivative the plot is. However, I still enjoyed the series in elementary school and hope for the best. At minimum, most of the voice actors are great and it should be craptacular. At most, it might actually be good.

1. not a bad cast at all
Have you checked out the comic version that just came out?

I think that it wouldn't be hard to stick to the original plot, as long as they polish up the dialogue so it's not so obvious it's taken right from a gaming session!

2. Can't wait.
There's some decent talent there, and I never would have thought to cast Kiefer Sutherland as Raistlin, but
he's got pretty much the perfect voice for him.

I have a friend who does a lot of editing work for the Dragonlance role playing games, so he's sort of on the inside when it comes to things pertaining to Krynn. He notified me of this a few months ago, so I'm pretty psyched for it.

6. Sweet.
It was my first fantasy novel. I have a lot of good memories about that series.

Got me through my freshman year of highschool.

10. it has to be live action
a few years ago I was playing Casting director, trying to figure out who I would cast in what role.

I always thought Burgess Meredith would be good as Belgarath .. too late now, he died. Emma Thompson as Pol

the other book I would like to see as a movie is Paksenarrion, by Elizabeth Moon. this is another that I read and re-read at least once a year.
