2. And here's the review (no spoilers) |
|
The set up is this: Vlad hears through the grapevine that Aliera has been arrested and charged for using pre-Empire sorcery. Nobody is helping her. So he decides to.
Being Iorich, this book has a LOT to do with concepts of justice and fairness, with a healthy dose of politics. It may be his most political book since Teckla.
It's also a great read. I loved this book. It's nice having Vlad back in Adrilanka, doing the old stuff, but always on the run from the Organization.
If you're a fan of Brust's, you're already planning to get this book. If you're not, go out and get The Book of Jhereg, an omnibus with his first three novels. You won't be sorry.
Oh, and stay to the end of the book. Deleted scenes!

he's already working on the next one, to be called "Tiassa". This could be the return of Khaavren.
