*** How to handle the February Contest ***

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I'm going to have a hard time running the February contest in the second half of the month, as I'll be "on the road" much of that time. Since the Winter contest is due to be held in the first part of the February, rescheduling the monthly contest earlier is a problem.

At this point, we have three ways of handling the situation:

- Slide the monthly contest to March.

- Start the Winter contest immediately instead of waiting until the start of February, with submissions beginning this weekend, the preliminaries running 1/27-1/29 and the finals 1/30-2/1, then opening the entries for the monthly contest 2/1-2/8, with preliminaries 2/10-2/12 and finals 2/13-2/15.

- Have Mira run the February contest in my stead, as she has graciously offered to do, at the regular time.

This poll will be up until Friday evening. What do you think we should do?

2. Oh Shucky Darn....

I was going to try and be gracious about hosting a contest. Too bad I missed being on the poll, now it simply can't happen. Oh gee.

So I guess I'll Vote for the last option ;)

3. I think what this poll shows is that the photographers

want their contest for February to happen as they are used to.

Anything is OK as long as we are not rocking that boat.

4. I tend to agree with wanting the contest for Feb.

February is such a lack luster month here in Utah. I have the blahs. My long terms records show that whenever I have bought a car it was in February. In hind sight I think it was some craving for some pizzaz some extreme retail therapy to brighten up my day. Ignoring the fact that come April, my pocket book is screaming with remorse.

So keeping a contest alive for this month will save me at least $15K :)

5. Imagine how much would it save you

if you volunteered to run the contest (for me)?
(And I would bundle up instead and visit some of your canyons. Bryce, anyone?)

6. Well, it looks as if The People Have Spoken...

...and we demand Keith Olbermann be restored to the airwaves as soon as...Oops! Wrong public demand! I mean, that Mira host the February contest.

7. OKAY - Like I said somewhere:

"I'm glad to do it"
The few times before I've made mistakes but the fun outweighed any embarrassment.
