Please tell me what you think of this camera...a friend is considering the purchase
http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-G2-Interchangeable-14-42mm-3-5-5-6/dp/B003AOAXL4/ref=cm_sw_em_r_n_dp_9BbVnb1B4TMKW_tt

A friend had his camera stolen out of his car seat, and asked me what I think of the one at the link.
I said I have friends who know lots more about this than I do.

So here I'm asking.

Thanks.

1. Panasonic makes 8-Tracks right?
I'd check craigslist local and look at buying a nikon or canon only b/c of the lenses they both offer. The lens is one of the most important things. It's like film 35mm bodies mean nothing, only the lenses make a difference. B&H, KEH have used.

3. Lenses are important.
That's why after Voightlander released their 25mm f0.95 Nokton Micro Four Thirds lens I've been seriously considering either this or the Olympus.

Besides they make Micro Four Thirds adapters for every major lens system, I have friends that use their big boy lenses on their Micro Four Third bodies.

2. I have a Lumix and like it a lot
No interchangeable lenses, just a big zoom. This one looks nice. The Amazon reviews are a good resource. A lot of them know a ton about cameras. Your friend should be able to tell a lot from those.

Mine has a Leika lens........I'm not too concerned about the quality of my lens (???)

5. Are there non-stolen lenses/equipment to consider?
Is the Panasonic being considered because he still has some lenses and/or other Panasonic-specific equipment that wasn't stolen along with the camera? Or did everything get stolen and he's starting from a clean slate?
