1. Oh my Gosh, Blue, THIS
is what back lit really means. How great is that interaction!
By the way, I'm glad to see your snow gone, it won't be long and you can start your garden.

3. I've got my seedlings going in the greenhouse.
I should be able to put everything out in about a week or 10 days.

4. I remember your photos of your plant beds and how you had to wait to start. Here is
something I stepped outside to show you:

My peonies aren't even open yet.

2. I love sandhills. I grew up in Nebraska and we went to see the migration several times.

7. What a fantastic shot.
We see sandhill cranes along the river when we row. Very majestic birds.

9. I just love them.
They, along with the trumpeter swans, are some of our earliest harbingers of spring. I've been meaning to get down to Potter Marsh to photograph the swans, but with gas prices like they are ... $4.23 here in Anchorage ... I almost hate to go anywhere, even for a perfect photo op. The Coastal Trail where we see the cranes is just a mile from here.

13. Me neither. There's no sport in killing them, and they are not a
Staple of our dinner table.

14. Minnesota just approved one. I'm not crazy about it, but I hear they are mighty tasty.
