Poll question: On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a loner would you rate yourself? |
|
With 10 being the most extreme loner.

8 or 9? 8 or 9? I finally settled on 8. I'm pretty sure I'm toward the extreme end of the scale. I easily den up for weeks, months at a time.

2. If I went as a percentage of time alone, |
|
I'd be a 10.
Except I have a small handful (six, seven) people in my life (friends, family) who love and understand me, so I'm not alone all the time.
Just 94.3%.
lol.

3. I chose 8....because I prefer being with myself |
|
a great deal of the time, but I love and need to be with people at least some part of each day....
All alone on a mountaintop would not be fun for me! :-)
I like to have options - to be a loner with access to people. Guess that is why I prefer city living.

I don't mind being on a city street with people, I just don't want them to talk to me!

I chose 9 because I can remember a few times in my life when I felt the need to be with people, so it must not be 10.
It's hard to really tell; I am overloaded with people at work, so my tendency to crave solitude might not be as strong if I didn't have to work. As it is, I have a few friends whose company I enjoy, but I'll let weeks or a couple of months go by without contacting them; even though I like them and enjoy their company, giving up my jealously hoarded personal time for them is often done reluctantly. I see a few for a few hours each weekend, because we keep our horses together and ride together; that's usually my limit for socializing.

9. I chose 7 because I mostly like to be by myself. but there are those |
|
times like at the dog park where i chat up a storm with someone. we also have various family engagements to go to during the year and i can get pretty social at those. sometimes, they are fun. but i tire of them easily. my threshold isn't what it used to be.

7 and 8 for sure. And I am leaning mostly towards 8. As you all have said, there are those occasions when it's fun to get together with friends, but for me it's always just 1 or 2 at a time, never with a group by choice. There is just no way to put the words "fun" and "crowd" together and make sense to me. I guess I'll vote 8.
(How many here saw the movie "Castaway" with Tom Hanks and thought it wouldn't be so bad? Just kidding, I'd at least need a bunch of books to make the time go by........)

I mostly enjoy my own company, and I do enjoy getting together will small groups of people. I don't think I'm a 9 or a 10, because the desire to have a rewarding relationship is there, if not the reality.

because I love spending most of my day alone or with 1 or 2 people in the vicinity at work. It's been a long long time since I've been involved with a group of people that doesn't drain the life out of me.
