Dem Club in Freeperville needs a Logo - so we're having a contest |
|
Please help us out. We tried to have this contest locally and the schools wouldn't let us approach their students because we're "partisan". So I thought someone here at DU might give it a shot.
Contest for Original Logo Artwork - Local Democratic Club
Deadline: Entries must be received by May 31, 2005, either by snail mail or email.
Prize: $100.00
Requirement: Red white & blue, modern, eye-catching, and best represents The Democratic Club of the Conejo Valley (DCCV). Needs to reflect Democratic Values. (duh)
Logo Applications: website, stationary, bumper stickers, banners, pins, newsletter, tshirts
Scale: lapel pin to 10-foot banner
Visit our website www.conejodemocrats.com to learn more about us, or send an email to: administrative_vicepresident@conejodemocrats.com .
The top three entries will be chosen by a panel of judges. The winning entries will be presented to the general DCCV membership on June 8th and voted on at that meeting. No original artwork can be returned. All rights to the winning logo become the property of the Democratic Club of the Conejo Valley.

That really wasn't out intention. Clearly we have no one with artistic abilities in our group, or else we would have known what not to say or do. We just went on what we've seen before. It wasn't meant to piss on anyone's work.
We aren't looking for anything fancy...and we know that $100 isn't much, but it's what our club can afford.
Again, sorry we dummied up.

but you would be a lot better off to take the money, prize money, plus whatever expenses you would have, and find a designer that is a dem, and will do it for that kind of money. i know i would rather do it cheaply for a good cause than play that kid of game. we just get tired of being treated like trained monkeys or something. a lot of us give away more than we sell.

An artist should never surrender copyright. I would suggest that you stipulate that the art work be purchased along with "non-exclusive rights." Stephen Pitt http://www.light-to-dark.com/http://www.light-to-dark.com/Stephen_Pitt_Cartoons.htmlhttp://www.light-to-dark.com/Photo_Index.html
