Can you help me with a Fire Door spring hinge?
We have a fire door into the garage. It has internal springs that are supposed to close the door to latch. It closes the door, but not enough to latch. Is there a way to adjust them? does it just need lube? anybody know anything about these? thanks in advance everyone!

I know these pics are bad, but it has a little indention on the top of the hinge and a little wire that sticks out from the hinge. It looks like it *should* be a hex head on top, but it's not really

anyway, this came up on our home inspection and we're not sure what to do about it.

1. Yes, call your trailer maven and get an estimate on fixing it
My guess is that it's shot and will have to be replaced. It may be an expensive proposition, so do it ASAP.
