another wood finish question |
|
do i need a sanding sealer with tung oil? should i use a commercial one, or do like the old furniture guys did with a 1:10 dilution? (anybody remember that show? it was great. they picked stuff out of the trash, from second had stores, whatever, and finished them up.)

4. The directions that came with my spinning wheel |
|
and can of tung oil said not to use any sort of a sealer, that the oil was meant to penetrate the wood.
Of course, those instructions were in Dutch, so it's possible I could have misunderstood. However, the oil finish has held up for 15 years, so it didn't hurt anything.
