Atomizer Cap on perfume bottle broken off. How can I get the perfume out?
Any ideas would help.

I found this wonderful perfume on e-bay. 2 sellers. Bought both. It is no longer made. Certainly I would not use both at once so I put one away. I just took the second bottle out of the box, tried to use it and the atomizer button snapped right off. Since it has been at least a year since I bought it, I have no recourse. I should have checked both immediately. The stem shows signs of glue residue. Oh well, foolish me.

The contents are under pressure. Any thoughts on how I might get the contents out without the bottle exploding?

1. When I've had that happen
I just pumped it out on my hand and spread it onto my skin wherever I want it.

2. I forgot to mention, this is a glass bottle with the spray head
on the metal top, refined but like a can of starch apparatus. The stem protruded from the top of the bottle and the little spray cap fit over it. Stem snapped off level with top of bottle.

I've wondered if I could drill a tiny hole in the top to release the pressure and then try and somehow drill a larger hole in the metal top and pour the perfume into a different bottle. My concern is that the foolish thing will explode as the pressure is released. I'd have to clamp the bottle to something and use the tiniest drill I could find.

I just checked on e-bay and the few that are available are in the $100-200+ price range. I did not pay anything like that but it is really wonderful perfume and I could never buy it again at these prices. Audace by Rochas.

3. That's the kind I'm talking about
if you turn it over and pump the stem on your hand, the perfume will come out. I don't know anything about drilling it or anything. Sorry.

4. Too bad you're not a nurse
I'd pop in a 22 gauge needle to release the pressure slowly and then cram an 18 gauge needle down the tube and use a 10 cc syringe to suck the perfume out.

Yeah, after all these years, I still have needles kicking around. I also have the last methotrexate bottle around with a prescription label on it to justify it if the drug police ever question it.

5. I wonder what would happen if I tried to stick something like
a thin crochet needle in the hole? I don't know if I can access the contents Somehow I think I have to puncture the top to release the pressure and try and peel back or drill into the metal cap and pour out the contents.

If the thing explodes, my room will smell wonderful for a long time, just hope the release doesn't send something flying me way.

Your idea sounds good, too bad I don't have any equipment like that.

6. I sincerely doubt the contents are under that much pressure
or it would have blown up already. The crochet hook would likely be too small, so I'd suggest a long sewing needle first, followed by maybe a tapestry needle to make a big enough hole to decant the perfume. Or just shake it out of the hole, drop by drop.
