If I'm not snowed in tomorrow I am going to buy the DVD and watch it all weekend.

1. Awesome film!

I saw it in the theatre originally and they've also been playing it on one premium channel or another recently. I've seen it maybe 5 times and it's been great each time.

I wonder what extras will be on the DVD. Might be fun if they have a documentary on how they filmed it.

2. best part of the DVD
I thought the best part of the DVD was the "making of" documentary -- even better than the original film because you could now see the difficulties in creating the film.

Very bad luck for them at Oscar-time that this film came out the same years as "Bowling for Columbine." Any other year, they would have been the winner, but I too would have (reluctantly and wishing there could be two winners) have given the award to "Columbine."

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists
and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.

8. When they were training the geese to run behind the ultralight
...had such a comic value. The juveniles were running at all their might to keep up with the airplane.

9. Finally purchased it and watched it several times over a cold
stay indoors weekend. I agree with you on the "making of" extra on the DVD. Showing how they imprinted the young and all the struggles the crew had from continent to continent. Wow! they sure were devoted.

Great film, glad I bought it. It is one of those you can pop in the DVD anytime and just watch in awe.

Definitely

4. I saw this film at a film festival
On a huge screen It was fantastic! I have seen it a few times since and get something more out of it each time.

Parts of the film were disturbing, re habitiat loss.

This film would be powerful to show in schools with a discussion following.

7. Very beautiful to watch
Maybe I'm being a dork, but I kind of wished that they had included more narration. The included almost no narration whatsoever and, while I was watching, I couldn't help but think about the David Attenborough Life of Birds and how much really cool information about birds and habitat and ecology and so on he managed to impart while showing you a lot of really beautiful footage. I kept seeing opportunities in Winged Migration to offer a little extra educational commentary and they were mostly passed over mutely. But definitely a beautiful and educational film nevertheless.
