The War on Burrowing Owls

After a three day epic battle, a stubborn little burrowing owl has won the battle with the squirrels and jays for possession of the biggest orange tree in my yard(I have 13...old orange grove)
The tree has a wood platform that I installed so the squirrels would eat oranges in the same place every time thus making cleanup a little easier. Fascinating watching this little battle for a plank of wood play out in my backyard...The local Coopers Hawk, who dive bombed the Owl today is in on the attempt to evict the Owl...now to try to get some pics.

I love birds of prey. I only wish I could see more owls.
