Wow - spring migration has started on the Gulf Coast
Just saw dozens of tree swallows, robins and Palm Warblers...

It's still February by my calander...

1. We've had robbins all winter long here in North Central Texas.
I think that is the norm for us too. Where on the coast are you generally speaking?

2. We have all of Canada's robins up here in the north
and last year we had an early tree swallow in the winter as well. There's been Eastern Phoebes showing up too, but it's unclear whether or not they are moving up as an early migration or just represent birds that never left as we didn't get a real winter until the last couple weeks.

3. I saw a pair of Bluebirds (or Parula Warblers) this AM too.
and remember thousands of robins wintering in Newfoundland a few years back (lived there).

Saw Iceland Gulls and Robins in the same park in January...
