FYI, there's a neat post about owls in the Minnesota forum |
|
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=160x7256I've never in my life seen an owl, but there was a screech owl near my old condo, and I just loved to hear it's call. And just at the end of last autumn I thought I heard a screech owl near my new place. Fingers crossed! :)

Thanks for the link.

What a majestic creature!!
We have 2 Hoot owls somewhere near by because we can hear them answering each other at night.
Hope to see one someday!

3. Beautiful! I love owls |
|
We learned how to call the Barred Owl when we lived in South Carolina many years ago. Late at night, sitting on an old dock at the edge of a swamp. It's an incredible experience.
These pictures are great!

He almost took my head off. :-)

5. We would hear them calling from all over the swamp |
|
Then they would alight in the trees around us. We couldn't see them, because it was dark, but they simultaneously would start hooting and hollering. It was scary at first. I guess we were a little sadistic, because we would bring our friends out there and scare them to death. :-)
